Strange News
Police have arrested a 52-year-old man in connection with a Jackson cross burning.
Bill Sanders of Jackson was charged Wednesday with one count of arson, said Jackson Fire Chief Vernon Hughes.
It was unclear why Sanders, who is black, allegedly set fire to the cross.
"We’re not sure right now of his motive," said Hughes. "The only thing we know right now is he was looking for some sort of attention."

Nationalized Health Care
I "sorta" support the idea of a national health care system. The trouble is that once the U.S. starts such a program, and people become accustomed to the "right" to health care, they will then begin filibustering for the "right" to free housing, a new car, a plasma TV, an Ipod, an Iphone, etc., etc., etc.
The number of "rights" will be only limited by imagination. It used to be called "creeping socialism" and the leftists keep dreaming up more and more "rights" that the taxpayers must subsidize.

As of Tuesday, July 10, Sicko has grossed only $12.4 million after 19 days in release. These numbers are truly sicko compared to Moore’s previous efforts (or propaganda, some would say).
People are also avoiding Angelina Jolie’s latest movie. After 19 days in release A Mighty Heart has grossed only $8.5 million. I doubt this will even pay Jolie’s salary.
Both movies are political in nature and the producers seem to have missed any resonance with the viewing public. Rest in peace, Sicko and A Mighty Heart.

Obama claims that his father grew up herding goats. In reality, he was the son of a prominent and wealthy Muslim man and his son, Obama’s father, also Muslim, grew up in an environment of privilege and wealth as an outstanding student at a private school. He never herded goats.
No one ever meets any member his birth family, hears about them because they are traditional Muslims. 750,000 a year killed

Beijing engineered the removal of nearly a third of a World Bank report on pollution in China because of concerns that findings on premature deaths could provoke "social unrest".
The report, produced in co-operation with Chinese government ministries over several years, found about 750,000 people die prematurely in China each year, mainly from air pollution in large cities.

Defense spending
The U.S. government spends 23.6% of its budget on military spending.This is a huge amount of money. I am wondering why only 160,000 troops can be placed on the ground in Iraq while at the same time the military is said to be "stretched too thin."
Something doesn’t add up. Almost 24% of government spending! And it only gets 160,000 troops on the ground? During World War II we had milliions of men and women in uniform. And they won the war in less than 4 years. Something doesn’t add up.
